Please stop blaming us for your woes!
It’s not the fault of Internet Marketing Advisors that Search Engine Optimization has such stringent rules. But it’s a promise that if you follow these rules, the chances of you getting a higher rank in the search engines are amplified. So if you follow the rules set for SEO you will always stay ahead of competition, and will never be forced into obscurity.
Whenever we are asked to comment on the handiwork of a designer this is how we do it. We log on to the site, give it a good look and then pass our comment, which more often than not is this: “Nice to look at but not suitable for websites.” But why, what is the reason?
Importance of keywords
The most prominent reason is because most web design for crawlers are slow and offer a poor upload. If your site is located by clients who are searching for services offered by these websites they are of no use to anybody. If the search engine spiders don’t crawl your site it’s because you are not using the right keyword to define it. A surfer gets to know of the existence of your site almost always through the use of search engines. An ideal web design for crawlers is how we define it. A perfect website will act as a magnet for the search engine spiders. There is really no other way to define site perfection.
Here’s an example: Key Client: Electrical Services
These are the keywords required to locate the site: emergency, repair service commercial, Boston, New England, lifesavers.
See it’s so very simple. You can’t win all of these. The correct way of using a key word at least for this site would be like this: “Boston repair service” as a single phrase. The phrase “Boston repair service” should be used for a particular page and then the page should be optimized as per that.
Using keywords
A web design for crawlers always takes care that the keywords used to locate their sites don’t get ignored due to their nonsensical use. Words like “emergency” and lifesavers are used for hospitals and health related services which are a clear indicator that the person who designed this particular site did not do a web design for crawlers, and doesn’t know anything about SEO.
Do you know how we would have turned this fiasco into a perfect site?
We would have rephrased the keyword as “Boston emergency electrical”. Very niche sounding keywords that will not only be appreciated by search engine spiders but will also protect it from any threat of competition.
A good web design for crawlers will not have heavy and clumsy flash intro pages. Nobody likes them. Except web designers with a repressed sense of artistry and web owners who actually think they are cool. A web design for crawlers won’t have any flash pages because they frustrate people who are forced to work on slow browsers. It’s especially not good for people who are revisiting your site.
So now you know what a web design for crawlers should be like. It should strictly hold fast to the marketing model for the convenience of people and should also adhere to the search model to ensure that your site is ranked on the search engines.
