How to make a Groupon clone and how can you customize it to your business plan

Groupon is a web-based company that was founded in Chicago in 2008. The term—an amalgamation of the words ‘group’ and ‘coupon’—has been co-opted to refer to a unique deal-of-the-day business model, whereby customers are offered one discounted deal of the day on any number of items or services. Examples include spa sessions, sky diving lessons, restaurants and products such as headphones and books. Making a living with Google Adsense Program. Is it possible?

OK here is a brief on Adsense according to Wikipedia.
AdSense is an ad serving application run by Google Inc. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image, and video advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis. Google beta tested a cost-per-action service, but discontinued it in October 2008 in favor of a DoubleClick offering (also owned by Google).[2]
In Q1 2010, Google earned US$2.04 billion ($8.16 billion annualized), or 30% of total revenue, through AdSense.
Now the question is. How much of those 2.04 Billion Dollars are you earning?
I have had a talk with many people who have claimed their adsense earnings to be $70 in over 5 years, and some $45,000 a month. Trust me, $45,000 is not an exaggeration and i have personally seen their accounts.
There are tons and tons of blogs where people are cribbing and calling adsense as a scam or a program which pays nothing. Many people claim that as soon as the first threshold of $100 came, and when it was time for the first Google cheque to arrive – their accounts were banned without any fair reason. And No, they never receive that money.
By the initial looks of it, it does seem that Google Adsense seems to be a risky business. Some people would say, who would make a buck or let alone a LIVING with this program. So here is what you should know – and in the following post i would give you some tips and pointers on making money with adsense.
NOTE: THIS POST WIL NOT END UP SELLING AN EBOOK. AND ALL ADVICES (IF ANY) ARE FREE OF COST.

- A good niche for a website
- A domain name
- WordPress (or any other CMS)
- Understanding which niche pays $0.10 cents a click and which pays $10 a click.
- and finally, TONS of traffic!!

So, coming back to the old point. Is it possible to make a full time living with google adsense?
And my answer is : YES
If your mind always goes towards SPAM, this is not for you.
If you think, you can get rich OVERNIGHT, this is not for you. (just like any other business it might take years to stabilize)
To achieve success through adsense you need to put in effort, time, money. To be honest any website to start giving in about a years time.
I would recommend any person who has a vision and time on their hands to begin searching for adsense and how it works.

McDonalds India Website Review – Am i loving it?
Well, it was about 4PM, and as usual my tummy begins its growling.
Sitting in the office and working on a new design, there was a battle going on between my concentration and the “Chuhas” in my tummy.
So to ease of things, i decided i should probably order something. I am totally off pizzas and was tired of ordering stuff from the bakery.
And like a brilliant idea - McDonalds was the pick for today!
So i tried calling the office guard if he had the phone number for McDonalds or check with anyone who did. I wasn’t even sure if they delivered to our office building.
After trying for 10 odd minutes, i thought it would be a good idea to check their website for some contact info.
And this is how this post began.
I opened the website and began my search to find the contact numbers in the Chandigarh Branch. Good there was a Locate Button! Then as i opened the link, there was this huge list of flashy scroll bar which was moving at its own pace and asking me to choose the location. Well, i went up and down for good 30 seconds – and did not find my location.
My attention suddenly deviated from the order i was about to make – to the official website of McDonalds India. This is where my mind starting working as a designer & started thinking – Is this the work being done of huge brand names such as Mcdonalds in India? And if HUGE brand names really give a crap about whats being showcased on their official pages to the world – then i guess the future of web designing is going to hit a dead end soon.
I know I know – McDonalds doesn’t need promotion – It doesn’t need PR – and it doesn’t need any marketing to be honest.
BUT still! a user friendly, usable website is anyway required by small, big companies anywhere.
Anyhow, ill just post some screen shots below explaining what i mean.

The source code: Upon 1 min of review on the source code, i found the most basic things missing. There was no Meta Description. The Code on the homepage was HUGE! Basically the Jquery or Javascript used for the homepage slider animation was not called externally. There was basically a war going on in the source code, and i closed the window without even scrolling down.

The Look and Feel: Dark color combinations should have been a big NO NO when it comes to this brand. Clearly, how Mcdonalds markets itself – connected to FAMILY, FUN etc. this dark color combo does not gel with the regular brand marketing.
The Privacy Policy: Cannot be clicked, and has a # for a link. Guess McDonalds does not need to make googles trust on having a privacy policy page. LOL
The Image Editing: Not great! saw white grains around the coke
The base icons: Did not gel with the BG
The Homepage Slider: Took way too much to load. The movement was not smooth as well.

The inner pages:
These pages looked like they hopped into a time machine straight from the time when flash came was invented.
Everything, and i mean everything was in flash. From the round buttons which GLOW! to the long scroll on the left,to the standard Arial font, to the pixellated images. The part that left me wondering was, that even if the whole website was in Flash.. then what was the use of making .HTML page for all menus?
Anyhow, this was my brief view on one of the super brands of India. This has triggered me to browse through more websites of Top brands and write a review on them. Hope i find some good stuff, and yeah i would love to view some nice Govt. Websites too. I have my doubts if NIC has improved since the last i saw their websites.
So overall Rating for McDonalds Website: 3/10
Summary: Not really loving it!

Why selling your website on flippa is a bad idea
Flippa: Buy at your own risk!
I am frequently involved in buying of websites. In fact for god knows what reasons i have purchased about 200 domain names, over 100 websites in the last one year alone.
At this point in time, i am currently too busy in the companies core business and still a lot of work needs to be done on improving customer service and creating a brand i envision for Miracle Studios. So, as of now i have no time or idea what i should do with them. Any ideas?
Anyhow, coming back to the topic of buying and selling of websites. Flippa is a good marketplace for people around the world to sell their domain names, website, blogs — and the list goes on. There you would find people specifically making small scale websites for a particular niche – just to sell them for a basic price of $200-$300. These are not bad investments even for a new comer in the world of blogging, however you need to understand how the overall process works and what are the MUST have plugins.
As a seller, it is a good marketplace, however for a buyer- i am not too sure.
Please note that my focus here is not towards the amount of money a buyer can generate, but in the long run what happens to the website which has been sold.
As an example:
There was a website, or should i say a blog of 40-50 posts tops, was sold for $80,000. The niche was good, and it made good money with Google Adsense program.
I must say that the buyer has purchased it for a huge amount, however that his/hers personal choice – so no comments there. The seller made amazing money from it, so he must be having a nice ball. A simple 40 page blog, giving you $4000 a month since 1 year and then getting sold for $80,000!! Now thats good money from a blog.
Anyhow, that’s all said and done – but what happens next?
As soon as you posted your website on flippa, and posted your financial information, Tens and Thousands of people start copying your idea and niche. I am not joking – infact for fun sake even i jumped in the band wagon and have started websites on over 20 niches, after looking at some nice projects. lol
This makes things tougher for the BUYER as not only paid a huge amount purchasing a website… But also paid to make hundreds of competitors.
After 3 months, i checked the status of that particular blog, and the results were as expected. There were approximately 40-50 new blogs started on the same theme, and some of them were even ranking higher than the original website.
I have intentionally not posted blog addresses etc. in this post. Why? Give the guy who spent $80,000 a break i dont want that people who read this post, start copying that theme as well.
Anyhow, that was my 2 cents on Flippa, and why it is a disadvantage for a buyer.
